There are three types of Hanko in Japan.
Mitome-In
-For receiving parcels
-Attendance register at the office.
-For receiving official documents an certificates at the city office.
-Mitome-In does NOT have to be officially registered so can be created with a pseudonym.
-Can be created with Katakana.
Ginko-In
-is needed for creating a bank account
-should include one of the registered names at the bank.
-Can be made with Katakana
Attn: Since it is registered at the bank, Ginko-In must not be damaged or deformed. It should be stored securely and safely.
Jitsu-In
-Is to be officially registered at the local city office.
-Is an important hanko that it is needed at estate agents, purchasing houses, registering motor vehicles, mortgages, registering companies etc.
Attn:It has to be more than one part from your Zairyu card.

-10mm diameter with up to 4characters \400
-12mm diameter with up to 6characters \2,500
-13.5mm or 15mm diameter with more than
7characters from \4,400
